I miss my 96’ Cutlass

Yeah I do.

Had a old GM engine in it that was loud and felt amazing

Had break fluid leaks that caused a trail every time I pulled off.

I loved that piece of shit

probably because it’s all I had

And hell, $1,000 was nearly all the money in the world.

And it was worth it

To sit in my mom’s driveway

with some keys in hand

hearing a rumble of something old but consistent

Loud but functional

Comfortable and sleek

I miss it

Because when I was in that car, a mother fucker couldn’t tell me anything

Yeah I miss that piece of shit

It nearly killed me once

Big engine no breaks

Had to swerve out of the way onto the shoulder they stopped so fast.

Ended up looking at the guy eye to eye on the median

but fuck man

What’s the point of it all

To live afraid?

What’s the real thing we want.

We want to feel

We have to take risks to feel something

We have to embrace all the little things, and love the challenge.

Where I was at the time in that Cutlass I was making $7.40 a hour and wore a Salvation Army suit to a interview

He looked at me up and down, and said he would give me a chance

It was a job to clean up the movie theatres

And I drove off happy

But like 8 months later, I quit that job on the spot

And started my first startup

I had no idea

But I had that fucking car

And a mission to change my life forever

I don’t want comfort.

I like to stay uncomfortable

I like when they laugh

I love when they say you can’t

“You won’t”

my favorite place to be is the underdog, and it should be yours too

We can prove anyone wrong, and prove to ourselves what we are capable of.

If we don’t meditate on this, we die.

And to be spiritually dead, is worse then being physically dead.

embrace your struggle

You will miss it,

when you are right before the big thing.

When it’s all on your back.

Remember how it was.

Remember when all the little things you took for granted became normal things.

We are farther along then we think

And we know tomorrow isn’t promised

So take this, brush yourself off,

rev the engine or pump the breaks

And let your little world become your favorite place

because in that, you win unconditionally
